Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus Disease

3/25/2020 - SCHOOL CLOSED

Due to the shelter in place order the preschool is closed. We are already looking forward to when we will be reopening, and seeing all of those precious little faces again! We will continue to check emails and voicemails, I want to stay connected to all of you.

Updates will be provided via email, our Web page, and facebook. We pray that everyone remains safe and healthy!

3/20/2020 UPDATE:

We are answering as many questions to assist you through this crisis. The health and safety for our children, families and staff are most important and precious to us. We have decided not to charge the parents any tuition beginning 3/23/20 (unless you will be attending the abbreviated care 8-5).

I want to thank the parents that sent emails of support, love, understanding, and well wishes to all of the CCP staff. This has been extremely difficult and unusual time for all of us. We understand there are families that are very upset, and displaced during all of this. We will do our absolute best to be able to continue to pay our staff as long as possible.

We will have updates on our website, email, Facebook and the 1900 extension.

Again, thank you to all of the parents that have been so supportive through this tremendously difficult time. The emails of support is honestly what has been getting us through these times!

Updates will be provided via email, our Web page, and facebook. We pray that everyone remains safe and healthy!

3/16/2020 UPDATE:

Due to the recent announcement from CDC and Pinellas County school board, we have decided to close the preschool. Countryside Christian Preschool will be closed for 2 weeks. (Reopening on March 30)

Updates will be provided via email, our Web page, and facebook. We pray that everyone remains safe and healthy!

3/13/2020 UPDATE:

Dear Countryside Christian Preschool Families:

As you all know we are doing our absolute best to keep the preschool open and take care of everyone’s safety & health. IF the preschool does close, more than likely it will be for 2 weeks. As of today, we will remain open. The Adventure Club will not be leaving the campus.

All activities will be held on site, during spring break. Speaking of spring break, we understand that some families will be traveling.

Please be advised of the updated Department of Health and the Florida Department of Education.

• Anyone (students/faculty/staff/etc.) Who go on foreign travel, to any country, must self-isolate for 14 days upon return.
• Anyone (students/faculty/staff/etc.) Who go on a cruise, anywhere, must self-isolate for 14 days upon return.
• There should be no mass gatherings, which are defined by the CDC as “1,000-25,000 people, but the practical application is any gathering that would strain local resources.” With that being said, as previously mentioned…
• We need you to make the office aware of any illness your child has. In the case of COVID-19, the Health Department will be involved with the school and your family.
• If your child has been ill with upper respiratory symptoms and/or a fever, we will require a doctor's note for the child to return to school. Ages 2 and up will need to be fever free (without medication) for 24 hours.
• Upon return to school, we will take your child's temperature before allowing the child back in the classrooms.

Please make sure you come by the office with your child when he or she is returning. We will be sending out updates as we receive more information. We will be updating through email and Facebook. Thank you for your understanding and support as we are navigating through this uncertainty. The staff would also like to thank all of the parents that have been donating cleaning supplies and paper goods.

3/11/2020 UPDATE:

As you know, we have been closely monitoring the development of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Rest assured that we are keeping abreast of current guidelines from local and national authorities through the CDC and the Florida Department of Health. We are also keeping in touch with other schools, as well as consulting with health care professionals locally. This situation is dynamic and changing continually.

According to health officials who are providing us with direction, more cases of COVID-19 are anticipated. We want all of our CCP students and the community to be safe and healthy.

As you are aware, The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Coronavirus a pandemic and the CDC has placed the countries of China, Iran, South Korea, and Italy on a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for the foreseeable future, if you or a family member that you have had contact with has been to a Level 3 country (even for a short stop), we ask that you notify us, so we can determine through the health department if there should be a self-quarantine for two weeks.

We are taking precautions at Countryside Christian Preschool to be prepared for the potential of this illness.

We are taking on special cleaning, including the following:
1. We are deep cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces.
2. We are sanitizing each morning, before school opens.
3. We are disinfecting during the school day and at closing time.

With Spring Break on the horizon, we understand that people will be traveling. We are instituting the following:

1. When arriving at school, it is now mandatory that you must wash your child’s hands in the bathroom with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before entering in the classroom. Washing your hands with soap and water is best, however you may use the hand sanitizer on your child, located at the Procare stations / hallway doors or at the preschool entrance desk.

2. We will be isolating children who present with upper respiratory symptoms and/or a fever. We will have a "sick area" away from the office. If we call you and say we need you to pick up your child, we mean right away.

3. We need you to make the office aware of any illness your child has. In the case of COVID-19, the Health Department will be involved with the school and your family.

4. If your child has been ill with upper respiratory symptoms and/or a fever, we will require a doctor's note for the child to return to school. Ages 2 and up will need to be fever free (without medication) for 24 hours.

5. Upon return to school, we will take your child's temperature before allowing the child back in the classrooms. Please make sure you come by the office with your child when he or she is returning.

Please remember that the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to practice the following:

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

For Gods little ones,

Ronda Walker
